Your hot tub needs a strong and firm foundation. Your specific hot tub or swim spa model will depend on your spa pad construction needs. Most spas and swim spas are placed on a flat concrete pad.
For most hot tubs, a four-inch reinforced concrete pad is usually the most recommended substrate. Many hot tubs can be placed on decks or other flat solid surfaces. Make sure to check the requirements for your hot tub model in the pre-delivery instructions for your hot tub.
For most swim spas, a six-inch reinforced concrete pad is recommended. Check the requirements for your swim spa model in the pre-delivery instructions.
If you need further assistance, please contact The Hot Tub Store.
For best results with your electrical connection:
IMPORTANT: The neutral wire from the hot tub goes to a specific location on one of the breakers in the spa sub-panel NOT to the neutral bar.
If your electrician has further questions, please refer them to the instructions for your spa model in the pre-delivery instructions found at this link.
Note: If a Hot Tub Store technician needs to diagnose and/or correct the electrician’s work, there will be a minimum charge of $200.

Just like the spa, your Covana cover requires a solid foundation. The area that the Covana automated cover sits on must be able to support at least 600 lb and must be level. An uneven surface can affect the usage of the Covana cover and impede operations. All components of the Covana cover must be supported by the foundation. It is extremely important that the foundation for the spa and Covana unit be level. There must NOT be any slope for drainage, the surface needs to be perfectly level. Note: Damage caused by inadequate or improper foundation support is not covered by the Covana warranty. It is the responsibility of the owner to provide a proper level surface and foundation.
If you plan to use a Covana cover with a shorter spa, you must have the spa elevated on a platform so that the top of the spa is a minimum of 34” from the foundation surface where the Covana legs will sit. It is the responsibility of the owner to provide proper level surface and foundation as well as spa platform if needed.
*The Hot Tub Store is not responsible for damage to the foundation or Covana unit that may result from the installation of anchor bolts. The installer will determine the extra charge for bolt installation, as techniques and materials vary depending on the foundation and the Covana unit being installed.
